RECOMMENDATIONS
Create a WSP Approved Recycling Guide
- Having a single guide that is dispersed at events, through the mail, and over email to homeowners and renters will decrease confusion regarding recycling at home
- The recycling guide will include information specific to individual recycle haulers, items that are and are not accepted for curbside recycling, and information on the Recycling Zone. More resources will be included in the form of links at the bottom of the guide.
- Offering a single recycling guide containing simplified, yet all pertinent information will increase the recycling rate in WSP as well as decrease recycling contamination.

Offer a Self-Assessment Recycling Quiz to WSP Residents
- A 'quiz' allows residents to reflect on their current recycling behaviors and change actions if needed.
- Over-confidence in recycling can decreased with a combination of instructional strategies - reading and problem-solving.
- WSP can use these results to measure the efficiency of their recycling education efforts over time.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
We would like to extend our gratitude to a number of people, without whom this project would not be possible. Our first acknowledgement goes to Dave Schletty, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director of West St. Paul, for answering our classes’ questions and providing direction. We would also like to thank Cassandra Johnson, Dakota County Recycling Coordinator, for meeting virtually with our group and providing clarifying answers to our questions. The feedback from City Manager Nate Burkett and Councilmember Lisa Eng-Sarne was also very helpful in developing our project, and we thank them for their time.
The guidance of professors Dr. Eric North and Dr. Kristen Nelson, along with teaching assistant Hannah Ramer throughout the semester has proven invaluable in positively shaping our projects. Thank you.
