Course Purpose
Each year students participating in the University of Minnesota ESPM 4041 course work with a community partner to complete ‘real world’ projects involving environmental science, policy and land use planning. Students work in groups of four to six people. The group’s goal is to gather data relevant to the partner’s objectives, analyze the data, and - based on the data - make recommendations for future use. Students produce a final written report for the partner, design a webpage about the findings for public display, develop a short, formal presentation describing the findings, and present their findings to the partner group.
